Sep-Oct 99 Cover: The Crusader system is made up of the 155-mm howitzer with its resupply vehicle--the Army’s number one ground combat system and modernization priority. The system will replace the aging M109 series self-propelled howitzers (first fielded in 1963). Crusader is projected for fielding in 2005.
