Battles & Campaigns
August 1939: elements of Abwher men sent to poland to prevent the destruction of the Vistula bridges and the sabotage of factories in Silesia.
April 1940: campaign in scandinavia. Danish speaking Brandenburg troops disguised as Danish troops capture Grossner Belt bridges in Denmark. (this operation although listed in the division's history is somewhat dubious as the grossner bridge did not exist at the time)
Brandenberg glider borne assault operations in Norway.
April 1940: sabotage operations on the Afgahnistan-Indian border
May-June 1940: operations during the campaign in the west.
July 1940: preparations for the invasion of Great Britain
April 1941: the Balkans campaign. Brandenburg unit captures the iron gate on the Danube to allow river traffic to flow.
June 1941: Operation Barbarossa. Brandenburg units active in opening phases.
June 1941: Operation Amina actions against the abadan oil refinery in iran.
August 1941: Elements guard against British sabotage attempts on the rumanian oilfields
January1942: operation "Bajadere"and other operations with the Indian Legion under Subhas Chandra Bose
Spring 1942: attack on rail supply route to murmansk
April 1942: Brandenburg units in north Africa active.
Summer 1942: recruitment drive in the Caucasus by Brandenburg units
August 1942: Operation "Maykop", Brandenburg units prevent the destruction of the oil refinery by retreating soviet forces near maikop.
October 1942: on anti-partisan duties in Yugoslavia
Autumn/Winter 1942: Brandenburg motor boat patrols active against Soviet naval commandos in Sea of Azov.
November 1942: detachments flown to Tunisa
November 1943: combined airborne attack by Brandenburg and Luftwaffe paratroopers on the Island of Leros
February 1944: paratroop battalion raised.
Spring 1944: Brandenburg absorbed into Grossdeutschland Division
Summer 1944: Anti-partisan operations in Serbia. Combined Brandenburg and SS attempt to capture yugoslav partisan leader Tito.
August 1944: para battalion flown to Bucharest and taken prisoner
